California Private School law requires that students “attend” class for a minimum of 3 hours per day, 175 days per year. Since IVLA operates year-round, attendance must be recorded for a minimum of 175 days annually by the parent.
Attendance includes time spent on the IVLA learning platform, time involved in education related activities at home, and in the community.
While the IVLA learning management platform records the time a student spends in structured learning activities, IVLA recognizes that learning occurs in a wide variety of other activities as well. Parents certify that students have engaged in the minimum number of hours of learning activities by submitting monthly attendance logs.
Attendance logs must be submitted no later than the 5th day after the end of each month. Click here to access the attendance form - you will need your parent username and password to login.
Complying with the California attendance requirements ensures the integrity of the school, and of the students learning goals. Failure of the parent to maintain adequate attendance and progress records is grounds for the student’s expulsion from the IVLA
